Homemade Almond Chocolate Truffles
A decadent vegan treat you can feel good about, these Homemade Almond Chocolate Truffles are lusciously creamy and rich - and completely free of dairy and eggs. Topped with chocolaty cacao powder, these sweet morsels will give your taste buds a deluxe chocolate experience without all the guilt!
Cooking time: 10 mins
Servings: Around 10 truffles
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (150 grams) Otto's Medjool Dates (without pits)
- 1 teaspoon Nielsen Massey’s Vanilla Extract
- ½ cup (80 grams) Otto’s Raw Almonds
- 2 tablespoons Lucy Bee’s Extra Virgin Raw Coconut Oil (better if melted)
- ¼ cup (25 grams) Naturya Organic Cacao Powder and a bit more for rolling the truffles
- A pinch of fine sea salt
Instructions:
- Put all the ingredients in a food processor and blend for 2-3 minutes, until it becomes sticky and doughy.
- After blending the ingredients, simply form balls of your desired size and coat in the extra cacao.
- Keep these yummy truffles in the fridge/freezer in an airtight container for a quick chocolatey pick-me-up whenever you need it.
It’s as simple as that!
Note: These balls are an excellent post workout or recovery treat, packed with natural energy from the almonds and coconut oil. You can also serve them to family and friends with a hot drink, or simply enjoy them on their own.
